OPERATION

At the beginning of the processing period, the operator activates the unit for automatic operation by pressing the power control switch, selecting the desired cycle and depresses the “Cycle Start” button. The safety feature sequence is activated, the load, unload and center doors close, the wash/rinse chamber sump fill and heat, and the hot air dryer is activated. The unit will then automatically advance to the ready state when all of the required operational conditions have been met.
When the ready state has been obtained, carts placed in the load queuing position(s) will automatically be indexed by the conveyor into the wash/rinse chamber, into the drying chamber and into the unload position(s).  The presence of each cart is monitored and only the specific chamber doors are activated and opened to advance the existing carts to the next position.  If the final unload position is occupied, the unit doors will remain closed and the carts will not be indexed through or out of the unit until the unload position is clear to accept additional carts.
The operator positions the first cart to be processed into the first load position.  The closed cart types must be placed into position with their doors latched open so the carts open side faces the tow side of the chamber.  Additional carts may be placed in the automatic load position without activation of the cycle start switch.  Personnel are only required to move carts into and take carts away from the load and unload zones.

At the end of the processing period, the operator places the unit in the standby mode by pressing the Standby Keypad.  All unit processing functions will immediately stop.  The wash/rinse chamber sump will automatically drain, the dryer blowers will stop and the load and center doors will open.  The unload door remains closed during the standby period.
